Job Description

Sacco Mann is thrilled to be partnering again with our client, a leading IP firm with offices in London and Cambridge, as they look to recruit a talented Biotechnology Patent Attorney.

Working with a broad spectrum of clients, from emerging biotech companies to established pharmaceutical organisations, on innovations at the forefront of science, this role offers the chance to handle subject matter spanning immunotherapies, cell therapies and antibodies. The role provides involvement across all stages of patent work, including drafting and filing, prosecution, opposition proceedings, due diligence and wider strategic IP advisory matters. Those with an interest in developing their contentious/UPC experience – look no further!

The firm offers a clear cut and accessible progression structure, and you will have the support of a collegiate and communicative Partnership. Work is shared between the group and so for those looking to develop their expertise working alongside Attorneys at all levels – we’d love to hear from you!

The established team, sitting across the firms’ London and Cambridge sites, has a strong reputation for combining deep technical understanding with commercially grounded advice, assisting clients in building, managing and defending valuable patent portfolios on an international scale. Going from strength to strength, this highly regarded team of IP experts are busy and look forward to welcoming a new Biotechnology Patent Attorney to the firm.

Candidate requirements:

  • UK and European Patent Attorney
  • Academic background in a relevant life sciences discipline, such as biotechnology, biochemistry or molecular biology; a doctorate is advantageous
  • Experience working with biotech or pharmaceutical related patent matters with a thorough understanding of cell and gene therapies
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific concepts in a practical and accessible way
  • Commercially aware, with a proactive and client-oriented approach
  • Those with existing supervisory experience will be considered advantageous

What’s on offer:

  • Opportunity to join a well-respected team with a strong presence in the life sciences sector
  • Exposure to high-quality, technically challenging work for a varied international client base
  • A collaborative culture that supports professional growth and career progression
  • Ongoing training and development within a structured and supportive environment

This role would suit an ambitious London or Cambridge based Biotech Patent Attorney seeking to further their career within a progressive, collegiate and successful practice.
