Other IP Events and Courses

Events – both physical and virtual – are a great way for you to network, share ideas and build your profile within the industry. Here you will find a list of non-institute events and training courses that you can join in the days, weeks and months ahead. July – One IPO Training – every Wednesday in July

The UK IPO has launched another series of training webinars for new users. The sessions last one hour and are a demonstration of the key parts of the service, with time allocated for questions and answers.

The sessions take place every Wednesday throughout July at midday (12:00pm – 1:00pm).

The UK IPO run these for 8-10 people per session.

July/August/September – JDD revision courses PEB 2026 exams

Revision courses for the PEB 2026 and EQE 2027 exams May to December 2026

JDD is holding revision courses in May, June, July, August and September for the 2026 Patent Examination Board (PEB) Foundation Certificate (FC) and Final Diploma (FD) examinations. There are also revision courses in November and December 2026 for Papers F, M1, M2, M3 and M4 of the 2027 European Qualifying Examinations (EQE). Most of the courses are in person, but there are some Zoom/MS Teams-based courses.

The in-person courses are in Milton Keynes and dates are set out on our website. If accommodation is not required, the course fee will be reduced. There is an online Moodle resources forum to support the courses. There are discounts for the booking of five or more courses by a firm.

27 August – Manchester: Out and About in IP

Thursday 27 August, 6.00 pm – Manchester: Out and About in IP

An evening of honest careers conversation and relaxed networking with IP Out and IP Futures, hosted by Appleyard Lees in central Manchester. Open to all — free to attend. This event is organised jointly by IP Inclusive and Careers in Ideas and so is open to Summer of IP participants. Come along and welcome potential new recruits to the profession! Online Courses - no fixed dates
  • How to Pass FD2 Training Programme. The How To Pass FD2 Training Programme offers a comprehensive way to prepare for FD2. The Programme is designed and led by Iain Russell, an experienced patent attorney and the author of the CIPA Study Guide to FD2.
  • Introduction to patent searching. This comprehensive seven-hour course, (this first course being mainly focused on patentability searches), is designed specifically for patent attorneys and trainees, providing a deep dive into essential patent search strategies. The course is divided into modules, each focusing on critical aspects of patent searching. Note: This course is free for CIPA members. Please email [email protected] for an access code.
